Balaclava, what definitions we hear when we are visiting this charming place in Crimea. Is it a Fish bay as Turkich people named it once with Genoese Fortress Chembalo , or place of bloody battles during Crimear war, or place for top-secret Black Sea fleet underground complex. The project of Balaclava reformation will be performed coming spring in Cannes, reported during conference Aleksey Pertin, Manager “Smart Group”.

Balaclava in Spring
The new project of Balaclava is developed by the leading architects, who have experience in building throughout in Europe and China. Aleksey Pertin considers Balaclava must become touristic centre, as there aren’t only a few unique bays in the world. “Balaclava is a pearl of Crimea. Our aim is to create the national resort here. Of course, there is also high level of responsibility. We have to think over very carefully. Believe, this resort complex will be one of the best in the world”, declared the Manager “Smart Group”.
On previous information “Smart-Holding” is going to wind down the flux digging in Balaclava in the next few years. And on the place of the giant Kadikovskiy open pit and by the Mount of Gasfort will be created resort complexes which cost more than milliards dollars.

Balaclava is one of the districts of Sevastopol 12 km far from the city centre. Geographically Balaclava is the most convenient bay of Black Sea. It’s narrow (200-400 m) and deep (till 17 m). There are no storms. The Balaclava bay isn’t seen from Black Sea side, that is why numerous ships stayed hidden in Balaclava.
The age of this place is more than 3000 years old. First lived there Tauris, the native inhabitans of the Crimea. Splendid and beautiful town of Balaclava is situated in a small cosy bay. The ancient Greeks who settled here in 422 called this locality Syumbolon Limpe that is Harbour of Signs or Persage. More »

Balaclava was the epicentre of Crimean war (1853-1856). Under the patronage of brothers Sheremetyev was opened the unique museum “Crimean War”. This exhibition is the biggest museum collection of rare objects of the period Crimean war across the globe.
Here are collected all types of the cannons, all kind of cannon shots, all cold guns, all uniforms. The whole collection of the rewards.
The Balaclava’s Collection “Crimean War” was formed without any government support, and will be performed in Balaclava for 3 years.
