The only well preserved ancient theatre in the territory of Ukraine. Ancient traditions are being revived today, in summer the city theatres perform here.

Theatre was also a center of public life. It was there where plays were staged as well as public meetings and celebrations were held.

During the reign of Roman Empire, theatre performed fights of gladiators and wild animals hunting were held.

Later 2 churches were built inside of anchient theatre in Tauric Chersonesos. One of them was called Temple with an Ark. Here a silver coffer of 6th century with the shrines of an unknown saint was founded. Now it is stored in the Hermitage. The temple has the shape of  the equilateral cross.

Price is 35-40 grivnas, most of the sum goes to restoration of the ancient theatre in Tauric Chersonesos. Spectators are allowed to entrance for free the territory of Tauric Chersonesos. There is very close ancient city with ancient beaches.
